Scope & Objectives

The ad hoc's work is organized around a few concrete objectives:

  • Develop guidelines for incorporating native plants into parklands, for both new development and ongoing maintenance of city properties.
  • Review existing City policies and plans.
  • Evaluate regional best practices.
  • Develop program-level policy recommendations for integration into park planning and capital projects, with emphasis on locally-native and pollinator-supportive plant standards, and habitat continuity across parks, trails, and civic landscapes.
  • Reduce ecological barriers.
  • Identify opportunities for alignment with related City efforts.
