Measurable Standards
- Private development: ≥ 50% of landscaped area must be Southern California native plants.
- City projects: 100% of landscaped area must be Southern California native plants.
- Compliance verified through landscape plan review and installation certification.
Street Trees
- Not required to be native.
- Selected from the City's Approved Tree Species Master List, balancing infrastructure, canopy, shade, and urban performance.
Native Plant Standard
- Uses Calscape (CNPS) as the official reference for qualifying native plants.
- No city-maintained native plant list.
- Climate-adapted plants may be used but do not count toward native plant requirements.
